Active Listener Workshop @ FLIP Fest

  • Lethbridge, AB Canada (map)

FLIP is an annual music and art festival in Lethbridge, Alberta. FLIP aims to create an encouraging and inclusive local music scene. FLIP Fest advocates for, showcases and provides opportunities for women, femmes and non-binary artists.

Amnesty International Lethbridge Action Circle A97 is proud to sponsor FLIP Fest Wokrshop on Active Listenership! This workshop will familiarize participants with skills to become better listeners and supporters of people who may be feeling triggered or overwhelmed. This workshop uses an interactive approach in order to give participants hands on experience. The training will touch on several important topics in active listening such as setting personal boundaries, trauma, grounding exercises, the importance of utilizing an anti-oppresive approach, and supporting someone in accessing additional resources.

This workshop is part of our efforts to provide safer environments at our community gatherings.
