Board of Directors

Dr. Priti Maheshwari has a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in biotechnology and a B.Sc. in microbiology. She is the recipient of numerous fellowships and travel awards, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Lethbridge.  She is an Amnesty International Fieldworker and provides support to Southern Alberta by being the ” go-to-person” for Amnesty International  Lethbridge.  She promotes human  rights locally, provides workshops and human rights education, and supports local groups. 

Marc Lussier is a recent graduate of Lester B. Pearson UWC of the Pacific in Victoria where he attended on full scholarship. This year he decided to defer his entrance to Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany
in order to give back to his home community—Lethbridge! Previous credits include helping to found a school Amnesty group, kayaking 1,200km down the Inside Passage, and volunteering a few hours a week
to maintain the school bike fleet.

Troy Nickle attended the Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Lethbridge, focusing on studies in Fine Arts. He currently works as an art teacher at the Bowman Arts Centre and as a practicing artist.

Tseten Drawu has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and works at a virology laboratory in Lethbridge. She is interested in social activism, human rights, animal rights, environmentalism, and is active in the Tibetan freedom movement.

Darcie Sharp is currently completing her B.A. in psychology at the University of Lethbridge. She volunteers at Lethbridge Family Services in the community connections program with new immigrants to Canada. She enjoys spending time her three children, as well as reading, hiking, skiing, sculpting and social activism.

Sarah Stephen is a current student at the University of Lethbridge majoring in French . She loves to keep busy with school, part time jobs, with the BYOB environmental action group and AI Lethbridge!

Sarah Sweet Grass is the Telecommunications Administrator for the Blood Tribe. She is a qualified Youth Educator with specialized training in suicide intervention and prevention.

Alicia Visser has a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Transformation Studies, and is a stay at home  mom.   She enjoys quilting, canning, reading, and community activism.
